During his first overseas trip on Friday, Vice President said the US strongly supports NATO and will be unwavering in its commitment to the trans-Atlantic alliance. He was speaking at an annual security conference in Munich. He pledged the US would continue to hold Russia accountable for its actions and continue supporting the Enhanced Eastern Presence Initiative. He also warned that the US would expect the nations of NATO to fulfill their promise of spending 2% of their GDP on defense by 2024. So far only 5 countries have met that goal.
