During a speech on Saturday night, President Trump made reference to an unknown event in Sweden. The Swedish embassy asked for clarification as to what exactly he was referring to. President Trump explained via Twitter that there was a segment regarding migrants in Sweden on Fox News Friday night. The story referred to a crime wave in Malmo, Sweden. Criticisms of the claim include those given by the foreign policy spokeswoman of the Green Party, Pernilla Stalhammar who stated the segment had a lot of incorrect information in it, citing that the level of crimes against individuals has stayed about level. Preliminary statistics comparing crime in 2015 and 2016 has shown to be in agreement with Stalhammar’s statement even though there were over 160,000 migrants allowed in during the year.
