The state of California plans to unveil its newest web tool available to parents this Wednesday. The California School Dashboard will show graphs created from school data, giving parents the opportunity to see how their child’s school is faring compared to others in the state. The equity report that will be available for each school will display information on how the school performed on English and math standardized testing, as well as progress in English proficiency, suspension rates, and graduation rates. The color-coded system will rate these areas from good to bad in each category while avoiding an “overall” or average score of all categories. Some other features may appear later down the road.
One major upcoming change will be the removal of specific test scores for each school. Instead, a graph will indicate how prepared students are for college. Anyone may access the available information, starting Wednesday, at http://www.caschooldashboard.org/#/home.
