On Monday, the mother of a Chicago teenager reported to police that her daughter was missing. She showed the police screen captures of a video that had previously been live on Facebook. The captures showed what appeared to be her daughter being sexually assaulted. The police immediately began investigating the Facebook Live video and discovered the 15-year-old girl had been assaulted by five or six males. The live feed had approximately forty viewers; no one attempted to contact the police during the video feed. Police confirmed that the teen and her family were reunited on Tuesday. There have been no reports yet stating whether the males in the video will be charged with any crime. Facebook stated that they take their "responsibility to keep people safe on Facebook very seriously."
