Mylan has issued a voluntary recall of nearly 80,000 EpiPen 300 mcg Auto-Injectors across several nations. The recall affects New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and several European countries. The recall does not affect the United States. The recalled product was manufactured in St. Louis, Missouri.
The devices are being recalled due to a defective part which may fail to activate or require additional force to activate. EpiPens work by releasing a needle to inject epinephrine directly into the muscle when jabbed into the thigh.
