A judge approved a deal reached by the state of Michigan, city of Flint, local pastors, and the ACLU. In the deal the state agreed to spend almost $90 million to replace 18,000 of the 20,000 lead contaminated pipes in the city. An additional $10 million will be placed aside to replace additional pipes. The state will also continue supplying bottled water and deliver the bottled water until this work is completed. It is estimated that the work will take until 2020.
