Ivanka Trump will be joining the White House as an unpaid employee. She will be the first child of a president to have an official WH post since John Eisenhower, son of President Dwight Eisenhower. By becoming an official employee, Trump is required to file Form 278 financial disclosures with the Office of Government Ethics and must also comply with financial conflict of interest rules in section 208 of Title 18.
She has transferred the assets of her clothing and accessories brand to a trust held by relatives of Jared Kushner, her husband. The day to day operations are being handled by Abigail Klem. However, by taking no pay, Trump may be able to avoid certain divestment and reporting requirements.
