Bill Baroni and Bridget Anne Kelly were sentenced in the “Bridgegate” scandal in which traffic jams were created on the George Washington Bridge for political payback. In total, four political figures associated with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie have been convicted in relation to the incident. Baroni was Christie’s top executive at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the organization that runs the bridge. Kelly was a deputy chief of staff for Christie. According to court documents, the closures cost the Port Authority $14,314.04.
