G-7 Leaders Pressure Russia Over Syria

The foreign ministers from the Group of Seven Countries: France, Germany, Britain, Japan, Canada, Italy, and the US, have come together for a previously scheduled meeting in Italy. The British minister has stated that they are interested in new sanctions on Russia if they do not back down from supporting Assad. European support for US missile strikes in Syria has been seen as a good sign for US and European relations. The G-7 used to include Russia and be known as the G-8, however Russia was removed after its 2014 annexation of Crimea.
