United Airlines Changes Crew Member Flight Policy

United Airlines has made a policy change that no longer allows crew members to board an overbooked flight if it would require removing paying customers just prior to departure. The policy change comes after negative PR related to the removal of a passenger from a flight leaving Chicago last week. The memo requires United employees to book 60 minutes prior to a flight departure rather than up until right before departure. If the crew member fails to book before the flight they would have to wait until the next flight. This new policy will allow all boarding changes to occur prior to passengers boarding the plane.
