A car was driven into a crowd in Times Square on Thursday. The suspect, Richard Rojas, is a 26 year old from the Bronx and a US citizen who had previously served in the Navy according to authorities. Rojas had been previously convicted of drunk driving twice before, although he reportedly tested negative for alcohol.
A law enforcement source stated Rojas tested positive for PCP. Rojas had told police that “God made him do it” and that he expected officers to shoot him.
The victim who was killed was an 18 year old girl from Michigan. Four of the others injured were in critical condition but expected to survive.
