Three Chicago police officers were charged with conspiracy for their role in the Laquan McDonald shooting. The shooting occurred in October of 2014 and resulted in the death of McDonald. The three were not responsible for firing their weapons but instead are being charged with trying to cover up for the officer who fired the fatal shots. The officer who fired the shots is currently on trial for six counts of first-degree murder stemming from the shooting.
